Tomorrow’s Workflow Today

Tomorrow’s Workflow Today is the definitive seminar on production workflows and Final Cut Server. Support Partners is co-hosting this event with Trams and Apple on Friday 26th September at the Royal Society of Arts in London.

Whether you’re a small design studio or a global TV production company this seminar is relevant to you. Not only will we introduce you to Final Cut Server but will also demonstrate how a workflow is designed from ingest all the way through to final delivery. There will also be an exhibition area allowing you to see and discuss Final Cut Server related solutions from Object-Matrix, Telestream and Data Robotics.

Whether you work in a production boutique or a global news network, you can use Final Cut Server to free up more time for creative work. Final Cut Server can automatically manage thousands of assets, execute dozens of routine production tasks and keep every member of your team in sync, whether you’re producing a 30-second spot, the nightly news, a documentary film, or a major motion picture.

Phil Checkland, Head of Business (UK) at Support Partners, says:

“Clients have been quick to see the benefits of Final Cut Server; it makes it easy to collaborate on production projects and easier to re-use media assets. It allows you to manage your video, pdfs and documents all in one place, and integrates desktop production and traditional post production. Final Cut Server allows you to deliver media more smartly to a variety of formats – web, mobile phones, consumer devices as well as traditional TV.

“This system is ideal for small and medium sized set ups and it’s very competitively priced compared to larger asset management systems.

“Final Cut Server is opening up the market for digital production and additionally making it accessible to newspapers, publishers and suppliers of financial information.”

On the importance of redesigning workflows, Support Partners’ CEO, Harry Grinling, adds:

“When investing in new digital production technology, a key consideration is getting the production process right. We understand that deploying technology is just one part of a very much larger picture. In order to fully realise savings and efficiencies you need to look at the workflow as a whole. Old production processes tend to have evolved over time rather than been designed; they end up building in bad practice, waste and redundancy.  Applying automated systems to these out-dated processes embeds these inefficiencies and makes them more resistant to future change.

“Current processes must be reviewed and simplified, and, when they do, clients sometimes find that up to half of the process steps are no longer required.

”Support Partners have developed an interactive, production process mapping methodology that looks at the production process from an end-to-end perspective. Our workflow experts re-define production processes in an easy to understand graphical way and apply agile workflow mapping rules to those processes. This allows production teams to map out processes, efficiencies and savings, as well as understand the risks before investing in any new technology or workflow processes. Running other scenarios is also easy to do.”

If you have an interest in video and video workflow you should attend Support Partner’s Tomorrow’s Workflow Today seminar. It runs from 2.30 to 4.00 pm at the Royal Society of Arts in London.
